For more info on why VO2LB was put on the air read the earlier post about Repeater Upgrades.
Today, VO2LB Allstar repeater was moved from the test bench to the club building. The install went very smoothly after all the prep work that was done by VO2NS on the repeater rack when VO2WL was installed a couple of weeks ago.
Some tweaking may need to be done on the audio levels, but the repeater is on the air as of this afternoon.
The configuration files & the club router also need some work before the Network schedule can be enabled which is shown in detail in This Post. This should be done within the next few days.
VO2LB is on a new frequency to the Labrador West area on 147.390+ MHz with CTCSS tones of 88.5 on both the Tx & Rx. Details on all VHF/UHF Repeaters in the Labrador West area can be found on This Post.
A rudimentary coverage check was done around Lab. City using a 25W mobile with reasonable, but less than expected results. The repeater is using the old 2m Vertical which is side mounted to the main tower and right now, the antenna is on about a 30 degree lean, which doesn’t do a whole lot of good for the coverage pattern! Some TLC may be needed later this summer.
