Labrador West Repeaters

Below is a listing of vitals for all the non-Functional, Functional & Future repeaters in Labrador West as of August 3, 2023.

NOTE: Frequencies given here are the Repeater Tx & Rx frequencies. . If programming a radio for a repeater, switch the Tx & Rx frequencies.

VO2LMC (Analog)

Currently using Analog RC-96 Controller on Round Hill. Due to issues turning off messages & ID’s on LMC, it is currently a stand alone repeater with NO Links. Phone patch is Semi-Operational. LMC appears to have Rx issues of DTMF tones. This station will remain on air until the fall of 2023 while testing the new LMC station on Smokey Mountain.

VO2LMC (2m Allstar Repeater)

VO2LMC has been upgraded to Allstarlink controller with permanent link to VO2WL. Installation took place on July 24, 2023. Station is currently on Frequency 146.88- with 88.5 Tones. A decision will be made in the fall of 2023 to keep the new repeater on this frequency or switch back to the original LMC frequency once the analog station has been decommissioned.

  • Location: Smokey Mountain, permanent link to VO2WL
  • Freq: 146.880- (Tx 146.880 MHz, Rx 146.280 MHz)
  • Tx Tone: 88.5

  • APRS: 144.39 MHz, Rx only

VO2LMC (33cm Allstar Repeater)

A 33cm (900 MHz) station is also part of the new VO2LMC repeater. The local ski club was given a donation of surplus radio’s that were 900 MHz, and of no use to them. Our radio club traded a number of VHF radios, which was more suitable to the ski hill, for the 900 MHz units. One of the radios was used to make a Half Duplex node on VO2LMC. According to Repeaterbook.com, This is only the 26th 33cm repeater in Canada, and the only one East of Trois Rivières, PQ.

  • Location: Smokey Mountain, permanent link to VO2WL
  • Freq: 927.625- (Tx 927.625 MHz, Rx 902.625 MHz)
  • Tx Tone: 88.5
  • Rx Tone: 88.5
  • Duplex: Half
  • Offset: -25 MHz
  • Allstar Node: 555425 (NO Incoming Access)
  • Echolink Node: N/A
  • iaxRpt: N/A

VO2KG (Current)

VO2KG voice repeater was removed from Emeril Mountain in the fall of 2021 after a significant failure of the analog RLC-4 controller. APRS digipeater station at VO2KG was not affected and has remained in operation 100% through the winter of 2021/22.
