Back in July, during the forest fire in Churchill Falls & the multiple power outages, the main power supply switch on the VHF/UHF repeater rack at the club building failed. A temporary & smaller supply was temporarily installed but was only able to power a single repeater, VO2WL. Our permanent link to The Canada Hub, VO2LB, has been in a powered down state since then. A larger 20A CD supply was obtained in August, but a crazy busy summer schedule (What! It’s September Already!) prevented the install of the new power supply until today. VO2LB is back on the air as of this morning & a status update request has been submitted to Repeaterbook.com.
As well, on Sunday afternoon’s at 1:45, VO2WL will connect to VO2LB for the Canada Wide Net on The Canada Hub, which runs from 2:00 to 3:30 Atlantic Time. This connection will broadcast the Canada Wide Net over the entire HoWL VHF/UHF repeater network, (as well as any remote nodes connected to the VO2WL repeater/hub).
There are several other nets on The Canada Hub throughout the week, but only the Sunday afternoon net will be broadcast over the entire HoWL network. The other nets can be heard (or checked into) by tuning into VO2LB locally or remotely by connecting to VO2LB Allstar node 555424 or direct to The Canada Hub node 517300. There is a list of all the nets on The Canada Hub website.
